The new job posting states that Blizzard is looking for a senior/principal game designer. When looking a little deeper into the qualifications, the application details that Blizzard is “looking for a talented and experienced Senior or Principal Game Designer” to develop weapons and abilities “in action or first-person shooter games.” The application also states that applicants should have an “absolute passion for playing and creating PvP game experiences.”

The details of some of the more difficult qualifications are that applicants should have a “minimum of five years experience in the video game industry” and have “designed, developed, and shipped major game systems in a AAA game.” Applicants will also either have to relocate or live in Irvine, California. Blizzard seems to be pulling out all the stops and sparing no expense when it comes to hiring designers for this new title.

Blizzard starting hiring for this project about a year ago, which got fans stirring about what this new project could be. Back then, players were unaware of some of the details about this project, but with this application surfacing, players are now aware that it could be a first-person shooter with PvP aspects. But, of course, nothing has been confirmed yet or announced by Blizzard so take this information lightly.

However, to start speculating, fans have wondered if this new title is going to be something along the lines of a Battle Royale game, like Fortnite or PUBG. With that game type growing in popularity, it might make sense for Blizzard to possibly cash in on it. Or will it be a tactical first-person shooter in the vein of the Tom Clancy franchise?

For the moment, no one knows what kind of game this new project is, but fans are definitely hopeful for something new and exciting from Blizzard. Blizzard is always looking out for fan input, as games like Overwatch keep updating and evolving to fits player’s needs so fans can stay hopeful for whatever Blizzard has to offer.

If players meet the qualifications and would like to apply for the position, they can do so here.
